The world’s largest sportswear company is still Nike. Nike continues to be among the most prosperous businesses in the world with revenues that are now very close to $45 billion and are continuing rising at a remarkable rate. Although Nike now sells more than simply shoes, that brand is still by far its most popular one.
2. Adidas
Adidas, which was established by Adolf Dasslers, is the second-largest sports brand in the world. The German corporation, which is Nike’s major adversary, specializes in making shoes for several sports but has evolved into a more inclusive sportsbrand with a presence in a variety of other sports and daily activities.
3. Puma
Rudolf Dassler, the younger brother of Adolf Dassler, who developed Adidas, launched Puma in 1924. Their business was first started by the brothers. They parted up and each launched their own business following a heated disagreement. Adidas and Puma both have headquarters close to a tiny city in Bavaria. Although they aren’t nearly as huge as their bigger brother, they are nevertheless a solid third in the world market for sportswear.
4. Under Armour
Like the top three sports goods retailers, Under Armour sells athletic gear, but not solely. The American business was only established in the mid-1990s. However, the Baltimore-based sportswear firm has been very ambitious and has made significant progress in the footwear industry.
5. New Balance
Another firm with a primary emphasis on footwear rounds out the top five companies in the market for sports brands. Originally established in 1906 to produce arch supports, New Balance now produces its own shoes in addition to other sportswear brands.
