Your new relationship made them jealous.
It could not have been easy for them to see you move on with other guys or gals. They could not want to be with you alone, even if they don’t want to be with you. They could have returned to mess up your life. It’s possible that they’re attempting to end your new connection so you’re left alone, just as they are. Even while the text they sent you out of the blue could have seemed benign, they might have been using it to trick you into ending your present relationship. They can split up successfully in this manner.
They need emotional support during a tough time in their life.
They can be having difficulties with their relationships, jobs, or families. They contacted you out of habit since you were always there for them in the past. They don’t care if they injure you in the process since they’re just looking for comfort. They are just considering themselves. They don’t understand that they are crossing lines and that, now that you are separated, you can’t be there in the same way you once were.
They realize how good they had it with you.
It’s possible that their relationship had a bad rebound. They may have understood that not everyone will be as nice as you when the honeymoon period was gone. or equally focused. as good in bed, etc. They realized they had made a terrible error once they began dating someone else. They never should have left you since you were much out of their league, but they ought to have understood it sooner. They shouldn’t have had to hurt your feelings in order to see how valuable you are.
They’ve been thinking about the good memories you shared.
Perhaps they stumbled upon old pictures or texts that made them think of you. Perhaps they saw a replay of a program you used to watch together or heard your song playing on the radio. Keep in mind that your ex was simply human. Even if they are entirely over you, you will occasionally come into their thoughts. They have the same right to miss the folks from their past as you do. This doesn’t imply that they wish to reconcile or rehash their past differences. It can only indicate that you had a significant impact on their lives. If you and them used to be friends, they could really miss having you around.
